I’m an OB/GYN working in Lima, Perú. I have dedicated myself to the healthcare of women and especially to primary and secondary prevention, timely diagnosis and treatment of precancerous lesions of cervical cancer.
Over the years, I have learned that there is still a great lack of knowledge about the human papillomavirus infection and a social gap that prevents reaching a larger population, especially the most vulnerable. Therefore, I want to raise awareness of HPV and promote prevention, cervical screening and access to treatment. The reality here in Perú is concerning. We are the country with the fourth highest cervical cancer mortality rate in South America.
