Clinical Sexologist

Renée Pichette has a master’s degree in clinical sexology from the Université du Québec in Montréal. She has been a clinical sexologist/psychotherapist in the oncology department at the CHUM Integrated Cancer Centre since 2008. She works with various individuals from the oncology and gene medical teams at the CHUM.

In addition to her clinical practice, she teaches, supervises, and provides continuing education to oncology professionals, students, and groups interested in the sexuality of people with cancer or genetic predisposition.

Among her other professional activities, Miss. Pichette has been a sexologist consultant with patients at the CHUM Vulvo-Vaginal Disease Clinic (VUVA) for nearly 12 years. She also worked in private practice for several years. Her years of experience have allowed her to interact with people affected by HPV and the long-term consequences of STBBI.

From 1999 to 2005, she held several positions with the Sexologist Association of Québec, including Executive Director (Interim) and Director on the Board of Directors. Mindful of good practices and the protection of the public, she served as a director on the Board of Directors on the Ordre professionnel des sexologues du Québec from 2013 to 2019, of which she was one of the founders.
