Karine Boivin Roy’s role is Administrative and Legal Affairs Officer on the Board of Directors of the organization. She has a law degree from the University of Laval and is a graduate in Arts, majoring in anthropology with a minor in Sociology from McGill University. She also completed a certificate in gerontology at the University of Montreal. Admitted to the Quebec Bar in 2004, she began her career as a lawyer in private practice, downtown Montreal, and then took the position of head of legal affairs for the Group F. Farhat inc. from 2006 to 2010. In the midst of a multi-ethnic business, she practiced corporate, commercial, and real estate law. She returned to private practice in September 2010. Her practice remains concentrated in the areas of corporate, commercial, and real estate law; but also focuses on family law and matrimonial litigation.

Almost 10 years after admission to the Quebec Bar, Karine Boivin Roy made the jump into municipal politics, where she leverages her experiences both in the community and the legal environment. She currently serves various functions, namely: she is elected city councilor for the Louis Riel district for Mercier-Hochelaga-Maisonneuve, is designated city councilor and chair of the Planning Advisory Committee (CCU) to Ville-Marie, she is a consultant associated with the housing to the Executive Committee (EC) of the City of Montreal, she is Vice-President of the Standing Committee of review of contracts (CPEC) of the City of Montreal, as well as other functions.

Always driven by the constant desire to get involved socially, she held positions within the Association Internationale francophone des aînés (1996-1997) and the Paraplegic Association of Quebec (1998-1999). Finally, she takes on the role of Secretary on the Board of Directors for HPV Global Action.
